Yasuo Sushi & Tapas: Experience Trendy Dining with Exceptional Sushi and Tapas

Ok. We went a little crazy with the rolls and didn’t regret it!. Baked lobster was special! My daughter and I had to fight for the last pieces. We thought the grapefruit yellowtail sounded interesting and created a unique combo. Rainbow ceviche came out beautifully and we ate it kind of like a soup after we broke the fish into the sauce. Guilty pleasure was spicy and sweet in just the right way. Crunch was a good option for my niece who doesn’t eat raw fish. One of my kids had the green tea ice cream and it was delicious! Not too sweet. And the tempura dessert wasn’t as good so would chose the ice cream next time. Still a lot of things we want to try! The lunch specials look like a great deal so will have to come back when we are in town!

Such a warm and welcoming environment! Very friendly staff and service. All appetizers and main entrees came out promptly and all of the fish was very fresh and clean. Would definitely come again!

A Hidden Gem for Authentic Japanese Food in Scottsdale! I finally got to try this small, cozy Japanese restaurant in the Mercado complex after hearing my friends rave about it for a while—and now I totally get the hype! The place has such a warm and elegant atmosphere, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed meal. The lunch deal is seriously unbeatable—$14 gets you miso soup, an 8-piece sushi roll, chicken with rice and curry, and a fresh salad. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and way more filling than I expected. The sushi was perfectly rolled and fresh, and the curry had that rich, comforting flavor that makes you want to keep coming back. Beyond the food, the service was amazing—everyone was super friendly and welcoming, and you really feel that classic Japanese hospitality. I honestly regret not coming here sooner! If you’re in Scottsdale and love Japanese food, this spot is a must-try. Definitely adding it to my regular lunch rotation!

This restaurant is definitely one of if not the best sushi restaurants in Arizona. The ambiance and service is amazing. Would definitely recommend trying out the sushi and squid tempura!

Absolutely phenomenal sushi experience. I’ve eaten at plenty of sushi spots in the area, but this place stands out in every way. The fish is incredibly fresh and you can tell the chefs take real pride in their craft. Every piece was balanced, clean, and beautifully presented :) I really highly recommend Family Combo which comes with miso soup, salad, tempura, sashimi, sushi (nigiri), and rolls. The atmosphere is cozy but modern, perfect for a date night or a relaxed dinner with friends and family members. If you love sushi, this place is a must visit. Fresh ingredients, skilled chefs, and top tier service. I’m already planning my next visit. Today, the chef offered extra free sashimi from the fresh fist rounding each table ^^

I came after a long day of errands. I was craving shrimp fried rice but I'm pretty picky so I looked at the reviews online and pictures to make sure that there was veggie and fried egg. I was satisfied with the reviews and the pictures I saw so I decided to come in and I was surprised that I had come in at a happy hour time so I was able to try their spicy fried tuna and that was delicious. That was my favorite thing that I ate even though I did also get a plate of shrimp fried rice. The shrimp fried rice was good. It was a tad bit salty for my taste and a bit bland but it was cooked well and I really enjoyed it and the shrimps were delicious. You can't go wrong with hot sake so I got that as well to finish everything off. I wasn't overwhelmed but I wasn't underwhelmed at all either. Id like to try their sushi and sashimi another time. I'll definitely be back to try more.

Great happy hour Mon-Sat 2pm-close. Foods come out so fast and really tasty. I definitely will go again to try other dishes.
